The President of Faso, Head of State, current President of the Confederation of Sahel States, Comrade Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ received a delegation from the Directors General of Customs of the member countries of the AES Confederation and Togo in audience this Friday morning.
The delegation, led by the Deputy Minister responsible for Budget, Comrade Fatumata BAKO /TRAORÉ, came to the current President of the Confederation of Sahel States to provide an update on the meeting of the Directors Earlier of Customs of the confederation and the Commissioner General of the Togolese Revenue Office held in Ouagadougou on 15 October.
“The aim is to examine the recommendations of the last meeting in Bamako (…), to complete the text to create the customs union, to establish procedures for the certification and recognition of confederal origin. We were able to validate the draft decision in that regard. And with the customs administration of Togo we have made the state of implementation of the interconnection of our information systems”, supported the spokesman of the delegation, the Director General of Customs of Niger, Colonel Mohamed Yacouba SIDO, who entrusts that the delegation has received guidance from the Head of State on trade facilitation: “the President of Faso instructed us to implement all the necessary instruments to facilitate exchanges between our States”.
According to the Commissioner of Customs and Indirect Duties of the Togolese Revenue Office, the Colonel of Customs Konzi TEï, the President of Faso has also given guidance on strengthening the role of customs in the economy that needs to be improved. “The direction of the Head of State will be a testament to us in the continuation of the cooperation between the Togolese customs of the OTR and the states of the AES Confederation,” he said.
